Reading: I Kings 7, Psalm 99
Key Verse: 2 Cor 12:10 I take pleasure in weaknesses… for when I am weak than I am strong
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
My Bible reading this morning had me In 1 Kings 7 where it describes how Solomon built his palace and the articles for the Temple. One particular item Solomon had built was two 27 foot tall by 18 foot wide solid bronze pillars. That must have been a massive cast! How in the world did they move it? How did they stand that thing up? And then, there was a 7 1/2 foot “capital” on top of that decorated with all kinds of other things. It’s incredible what they were able to accomplish! Solomon records they used more bronze than could even be measured!
Our God truly is the king of the universe. (Ps 99:1) He gives strength and wisdom to those he tasks with doing your work! Let us praise His great and awesome name. His name is holy! (Ps 99:3)
If God could enable Huram to be able to cast that pillar, and all those amazing articles of the temple, He can certainly use us to do His work here in PNG.
All too often our God is too small! 2 Cor 12:10, when I am weak then HE is strong. Therefore, I glory in my weakness, so that the power of Christ can work through me! (2 Cor 12:9) What an incredible privilege. To look back and genuinely say, “That was all God!”
Father, thank you for the privilege of partnering with you, and for the opportunity to simply be your instrument. For you to use my hands, my mouth, my legs, to do your work! Like you testified when you walked this earth, (John 14:9-10) “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father… the words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does the work through me!”
The blessedness of being weak! Even Jesus was willing to be weak, and nothing (Phil 2:5-8), so that the power of His Father could be displayed!
