With rain comes God’s promise in the form of the rainbow. Thank you for your promises!

Happy Thanksgiving (To you Americans anyway)

We are looking forward to gathering together with those of us left here on the center. We have 4 missionary families and one PNG Citizen family. So Thursday, although it’s still a work day here in PNG, we will get together for a potluck and an evening of fellowship. We are looking forward to celebrating together with God’s family, while we are apart from our earthly family.

So, what are you thankful for? I look forward to sharing praise and Thanksgiving when we all get together.

Here’s a few things you can be praying for us this week:

Prayer Requests

Sickness has hit “home” this week. Andrew’s wife, Emily, has been sick this week. Pray for quick recovery, and that she will be able to go back to work soon.

The babies have also been under the weather this week also. Pray for Bradley and Grace that they will be feeling better.

Continue to pray for the Murphy family as they wait on their visa paperwork.

Continue to pray for us as we prepare for the next group. There is still lots to get done before they arrive.

We have been living in a different house the last couple of weeks because the power in our house hasn’t been working right. We have an electrician coming tomorrow to hopefully fix the problem. Pray that the problem is easily found and fixed.

Keep praying for me as I make time for language learning amidst my other responsibilities. See the “News” column for what I am learning this week.

News

This week on the language front, I have been working on trying to understand the pronouns in this language. Here is an example of what I have been learning:

I am going to town: nga taun lon ala

You are going to town: ong taun lon ula

you (dual) are going to town: e thupa taun lon ala

you (plural) are going to town: ang taun lon ala

we (dual inclusive) are going to town: id thupa taun lon tala

we (dual exclusive): nam taun lon ala

we (plural) are going to town: id drangan taun lon ala

they (plural) are going to town: ang taun lon ala

Doesn’t that look like fun to try and keep it all straight. 🙂

Fun fact: For that “th” sound try this… Touch your tongue to the top of your mouth and exhale.
