{"id":1636,"date":"2024-01-17T07:46:44","date_gmt":"2024-01-16T21:46:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-watters\/?p=1636"},"modified":"2024-01-17T07:46:46","modified_gmt":"2024-01-16T21:46:46","slug":"prayer-for-faith-dependence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-watters\/2024\/01\/17\/prayer-for-faith-dependence\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer for Faith \/ Dependence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Gen 15:4-6<\/em><em> &nbsp;&nbsp;your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.\u201d <\/em><em><sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>Then the <\/em><em>Lord<\/em><em> took Abram outside and said to him, \u201cLook up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That\u2019s how many descendants you will have!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>And Abram believed the <\/em><em>Lord<\/em><em>, and the <\/em><em>Lord<\/em><em> counted him as righteous by because of his faith<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God longs to grow our faith. Peter reminded us that our faith is much more precious than anything of earthly value (1 Peter 1:7). God also knows that it\u2019s in trials and difficulty that our faith will grow. Just like Abram, when he had to wait for Isaac to come, He had to believe God\u2019s word, and \u201chang up on that.\u201d When he did, God honored him with righteousness. Today, I pray that ________ will see God through the challenges they are facing. That _________ will rest in the process of God moulding and shaping him\/her into His image (Rom 8:28-29)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Gen 18:13-14<\/em><em> Lord<\/em><em> said to Abraham, \u201cWhy did Sarah laugh and say, \u2018Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?\u2019 <\/em><strong><em><sup>14&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em> Is anything too hard for the <\/em><em>Lord<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Gen 20:7<\/em><em> return the woman to her husband, and he will pray for you, for he is a prophet. Then you will live. But if you don\u2019t return her to him, you can be sure that you and all your people will die.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Gen 20:17-18<\/em><em> Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants, so they could have children. <\/em><em><sup>18&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>For the <\/em><em>Lord<\/em><em> had caused all the women to be infertile because of what happened with Abraham\u2019s wife, Sarah.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God you are the king of the universe. There is nothing too difficult for you. You showed that to Abraham and Sarah when you promised to give them Isaac. But, somehow He didn\u2019t believe you could protect Sarai from the lustful desires of a worldly king. There is nothing too hard for you! I pray for _________________ today that they will your power and choose to trust\/depend on you. Because of Abraham\u2019s lack of faith you could have wiped out an entire nation. You did cause all their women to be barren while the king help Sarai. You are ruler of the universe! May ________________ trust you with even little details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Matt 8:8-10<\/em><em> <\/em><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. <\/em><em><sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, \u2018Go,\u2019 and they go, or \u2018Come,\u2019 and they come. And if I say to my slaves, \u2018Do this,\u2019 they do it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>10&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, \u201cI tell you the truth, I haven\u2019t seen faith like this in all Israel!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Matt 8:23-26<\/em><em> T<\/em><em>hen Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. <\/em><em><sup>24&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. <\/em><em><sup>25&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, \u201cLord, save us! We\u2019re going to drown!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>26&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>Jesus responded, \u201cWhy are you afraid? You have so little faith!\u201d Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I pray for _______\u2019s faith today. Just like Abraham learned to trust God out of his poverty (poverty in not having a son), it\u2019s in our poverty that faith becomes strong. The disciples were literally scared to death, they thought they would die. They failed to rest in the power of Jesus. The Centurion on the other hand, believe, and rested, not even requiring to see Jesus perform the miracle. May __________ have faith in their poverty, whatever that is today. May they believe without seeing. May they know Jesus, the king of the universe, is with them in the boat, and He has the power to calm the wind and the waves with just one word, Peace.\u201d May _______ experience your peace today as they put their faith in you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Matt 10:19-20<\/em><em> <\/em><em>When you are arrested, don\u2019t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. <\/em><em><sup>20&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>For it is not you who will be speaking\u2014it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Matt 10:27-31<\/em><em> What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>28&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>\u201cDon\u2019t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.<\/em><em><sup>*<\/sup><\/em><em> <\/em><em><sup>29&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>What is the price of two sparrows\u2014one copper coin<\/em><em><sup>*<\/sup><\/em><em> ? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. <\/em><em><sup>30&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. <\/em><em><sup>31&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>So don\u2019t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am so thankful today that God, you are the source of your own glory. That for anything in my life to bring you glory, you will and must be the source of it. You assured your disciples that they would not need to worry about what to say, because as they speak, the words they shared would not be their words, but God\u2019s Word. You commanded them to tell in the day what you shared with them in the darkness, to shout from the housetops what you whispered in their ears. I pray you will give ___________ the words you want them to say today. I pray for _________________ that you will give him\/her boldness to proclaim those words. I pray _______________ will sense your presence and that will give him\/her boldness to live as your instrument today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Matt 14:23-31<\/em><em> &nbsp;&nbsp;After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>24&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. <\/em><em><sup>25&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>About three o\u2019clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. <\/em><em><sup>26&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, \u201cIt\u2019s a ghost!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>27&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>But Jesus spoke to them at once. \u201cDon\u2019t be afraid,\u201d he said. \u201cTake courage. I am here!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>28&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>Then Peter called to him, \u201cLord, if it\u2019s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>29&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>\u201cYes, come,\u201d Jesus said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. <\/em><em><sup>30&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. \u201cSave me, Lord!\u201d he shouted.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em><sup>31&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. \u201cYou have so little faith,\u201d Jesus said. \u201cWhy did you doubt me?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the midst of the storm, Jesus took Peter from fear to faith. I pray for ________ that you will meet them in their storm. That they will be strengthened in their faith and be able to overcome their fear today. What are they afraid of? May _______ be able to put that at your feet and, in faith, step out of the boat like Peter did. It is so easy to start singing in doubt and anxiousness and fear when we look at the wind and the waves. May ________ be looking at you, and may you give him\/her the strength to walk above the waves and find you sufficient in the midst of the storm!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Matt 15:27<\/em><em> even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters\u2019 table. O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire. And her daughter was healed instantly.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh that we have have this kind of faith! That we would believe God and take Him at His word! I pray for _______ today that he\/she would take you at your word, believe you, and act upon it.
