{"id":1962,"date":"2025-12-29T23:14:04","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T13:14:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-watters\/?p=1962"},"modified":"2025-12-29T23:14:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T13:14:06","slug":"i-am-god-there-is-no-other","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-watters\/2025\/12\/29\/i-am-god-there-is-no-other\/","title":{"rendered":"I am God, There Is No Other"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Reading: I<\/strong>saiah 45; Psalm 111<br><strong>Key Verse: <\/strong>Isaiah 45:5 \u2014 \u201cI am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal Reflection<\/strong><br>In Isaiah 45 we read about clay arguing with the potter (Isaiah 45:9) and a newborn asking his faither and mother, \u201cWhy did you make me this way?\u201d (Isaiah 45:10) Yet is this not often how we respond when we find ourselves in trying circumstances? We say, \u201cLord, You\u2019re doing it wrong.\u201d \u201cGod why did you let this happen?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is in these moments when God wants to reveal Himself. How does He do that? He does it, not by what He is doing on the outside, but what He does in our hearts, as we walk through difficulty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ian Thomas said, \u201cIf your life as a Christian can still be explained in terms of you, your personality, your will power, your gift, your talent, your money, your courage, your scholarship, your dedication, your sacrifice or your anything\u2014then although you may have the Christian life, you are not yet living it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is only when your quality of life baffles the neighbors that you are likely to impress them! It has got to become patently obvious to others that the kind of life you are living is not only highly commendable but that it is beyond all human explanation. That however little they may understand this, it is beyond your capacity, and therefore the only explanation is God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hardship is the very platform where this happens. When people see peace that makes no sense, strength beyond our capacity, or joy in the midst of pain, they ask, \u201cHow do you do it?\u201d And we get to say, \u201cBut God!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scripture Insight<\/strong><br>God declares boldly, \u201cI made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos.\u201d (Isaiah 45:18) Without Him, life is chaos\u2014but He invites us to seek Him, promising He can be found (Isaiah 45:19). He speaks only what is true and declares only what is right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He calls the whole world to look to Him for salvation (Isaiah 45:22\u201324). He alone is our righteousness and strength. We may not know what today holds, but we can be absolutely certain of Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Psalm 111 echoes this: \u201cEverything He does reveals His glory\u2026 all He does is just and good.\u201d (Psalm 111:3, 7)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yet when hardship comes, we often respond like clay arguing with the potter (Isaiah 45:9). We say, \u201cLord, You\u2019re doing it wrong.\u201d But God reminds us: \u201cI am the One who made all things\u2026 I will fulfill My righteous purpose.\u201d (Isaiah 45:11\u201313)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Even through painful seasons, God reveals His glory, often not by what He does around us, but by what He forms within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ask God to reshape your thinking where it has become rigid or fearful.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trust that every circumstance is designed to reveal His glory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rest in the truth that He speaks only what is right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let your life testify, \u201cGod is with me\u2014there is no other.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prayer<\/strong><br>Father, open my eyes to see You at work in every circumstance. Help me trust Your purposes, even when I don\u2019t understand them. Shape my thinking, strengthen my faith, and let my life reveal that You alone are God.
