This week I haven’t done very well at writing and sharing from the Word. I do have a few things that stood out to me this week, but I didn’t have the time / make the time to organize those thoughts into something presentable. Maybe on our 3 1/2 car ride to our next church I will work on that.

Anyway, I have been meditating on our pastor’s sermon on Sunday, and asking the Lord how I can apply those thoughts to my life and my sharing with you all. From Colossians 3:5-10 he talked about having a plan to starve our old nature and also planning to feed our new nature. He also talked about being intentional in our spiritual growth. He suggested even writing down action steps to work toward and inviting other’s to help us follow through.

I recently reviewed John Maxwell’s 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. The first law is the law of intentionality where he defines 10 gaps that cause us to fail to grow. NOT Knowing where we need to grow and how we need to grow is one the gaps. Another is TIME… the longer we procrastinate in doing something the more likely we will never do it. I need to be more intentional to follow through with growth steps. God often challenges me with stuff, and I may even write them down, but they are soon forgotten when the next thing comes along.

I want to start sharing 1-2 action steps that I am working on. I would invite you to be praying for me in those things. I am asking my kids to hold me accountable to doing these things. If you would like to ask me how I am doing, I would be glad to share with you also. This is something I believe would help all of us to be more intentional, and to see more significant growth in our lives.

Here is my list for this week:

Any time someone asks me “How are you doing?” I want to give a response that talks about the Lord. To Christians, encourage them in the Lord. To unsaved, talk about how much God loves us by sending Jesus.

As I read God’s word that each time I would take the time to reflect by asking these 3 questions:

What did I learn?

How does God want to use this in my life?

Who needs to learn this from me?

I invite you to join me in this challenge. If you do, I will commit to praying for you and the things you are trusting the Lord to grow in, and I would be glad to followup and ask how you are doing.

I look forward to reading what God is doing in your lives.

Good morning family.
