Don’t you just hate it when you’re sick? Wednesday Mariah and I stayed home from Kids Club because I was feeling sick with a stomach bug and the dreaded diarrhea. Thankfully Dean, Levi and the girls were able to go and enjoy themselves. Dean was up at Jersey Shore today. Praise God for health and strength. We are recipients of the grace of life.
Thursday was a little different because Veronica stayed home all day. Tomorrow the afternoon Kindergarten classes go on their field trip to the pumpkin patch. What fun, I’m so happy for my little girl, she is growing up. Dean worked up at Jersey Shore again today, he came home early because he was feeling sick.
Up at 6 am to get the girls ready to leave at 7.05 to catch the bus to school. Normally Veronica does not leave until noon so this is a first for her. Off they go out the door with a “Goodbye have a good day”. Dean and I worked on preparing for the meeting on Sunday. I received a call from a friend asking if I wanted to attend a Kathy Trocolli concert in Lancaster. I had to refuse because of still feeling sick and needing to get ready for the meeting on Sunday, what a bummer. Even though I didn’t feel like it because I was not well I had promised the girls that we would do some shopping and then go to the Dollar Store and Movie gallery as a reward for learning their memory verses. The girls were pretty good and I’m glad we went out. We were supposed to have friends over but since I was still feeling yucky and didn’t want to spread the germs around we postponed it. Yes, it’s Friday night so that means Movie night. We watched, “Clifford’s Really Big Movie”, it was pretty good, the kids seemed to really enjoy it. Everyone was wiped out so we all went to bed soon after the movie finished. Praise God for our children, they are a blessing and a great responsibility. Pray for wisdom as we try to be consistent in our discipline but balance that with loving affection.
Dean and I spent a lot of Saturday preparing for the meeting on Sunday. We were both feeling a little better. The kids were good, they played outside with the neighbor kids most of the day. It was a pleasant day. Dean and I both stayed up late making sure we had everything ready for tomorrow. I chatted with my sister on facebook until late. I praise God for facebook as I’m able to communicate with my sister a lot more now than I used to, it’s great to keep in touch with family and friends.
Up at 6 am to get showered and then get everyone breakfast and ready for church. We dropped all the kids off at First Baptist where two of our friends had agreed to look after them while we went on to the other church. The presentation went fairly well. We thank and praise God for the opportunity to share the gospel and present the need for the remaining language groups of the world without the gospel, to hear the name of Jesus in their own language. We decided to take the kids out to a local park to play after lunch as it was such a nice day. We all enjoyed getting out for a break and having some family time. We thank and praise God for those who pray for us, support us and help us out in so many ways.
Monday was, “Columbus day” so we chose to go to New Tribes to rake leaves. Levi had to go to pre-school so we waited for him to leave then we headed up over the mountain. How beautiful everything looks right now with the orange, yellow, and red colors of Fall. Carissa and Veronica were good helpers raking the leaves into piles then smashing them down when we loaded them on the trailer. Dean said we helped him do almost a whole days work. It was good to get out in the fresh air and do some work. Today was Day 20 of the 40 days for life campaign. We are on the downhill slope. Praise God for the babies saved and the people who have avoided the pain and devastation of abortion. Life is precious. I was able to get a lot of correspondence done after the kids were in bed. I called my Dad in N.Z. via skype because it was his birthday, how lovely to hear his voice. I also got to talk to my baby brother, so nice to talk with them both. I didn’t get to bed until midnight. Thank you God for the provision of skype to talk to my family in New Zealand.
Tuesday is partnership development day. We have a meeting on Sunday so we are planning and thinking about that. The kids were all back at school today. Carissa is complaining that she is sick so we’ll have to see how she is tomorrow. We thought we lost the cell phone today but thankfully we found it. Praise the Lord for all His many blessings great and small. Please continue to pray for us that God would raise up the prayer and financial support we need to return to Senegal. Thank you for praying. Have a good week!
