Burnetts

September 25, 2012 by Tuti Hess

Christchurch was cold!
It was reverse culture shock having to use an electric blanket again but at the same time we sure were glad to have them to keep warm at night. A shock of another kind occurred when Dean and I were settling into bed one night. Dean had hurt his shoulder and was moving around a lot trying to find a comfortable position when I said to him “Would you stop moving around” to which he said “That’s not me moving around!” This was the second time we had felt an earthquake. We were told that they have had thousands of small earthquakes in Christchurch since the first big one back about 18 months ago.
It was a joy to meet some new people and to catch up with people we know. It was an encouragement to see and hear from those who have been praying for us and supporting us financially. We are so grateful for everyone who showed their love and support to us when we were in Christchurch. We were greatly blessed by Murray and Kay who happily served us during our 5 day stay. I, Tuti also enjoyed catching up with Murrays daughters who I was at Bible College with. The weather was cold but the camaraderie was warm.
