PioPio and Inglewood

September 26, 2012 by Tuti Hess

Photos of Dean and Peter working on the portable sawmill were taken out in the wop wops back behind Te Kuiti somewhere. Dean was thrilled to spend time with Pete, to see the New Zealand native bush and also to experience some kiwi forestry ingenuity.
The photo of the family with the guy with the long beard is the Lauridsons. We stayed with them on their farm back out back in the rolling green hills of Inglewood/Stratford. They live in a similar way to the Mennonites. We were very grateful for their hospitality and appreciated the opportunity to speak at their church as well as see one of our friends Peter Reeve. Peter is from the original church that Tuti was sent out from in Inglewood. It was a blessing but also a challenge as both Dean and I lost our voices and I, Tuti ended up having to share our ministry presentation because Dean could not talk. Dean unfortunately could not share his sermon that he had prepared. It was a challenging time for us but we know that when we are in weakness then God is strong in us. We leave the result with the Lord that whatever His purpose was in allowing us to be in that situation He will be honored.
The rest of the photos are of our time with Demchys. Peter and Sue were an important part of Tutis life when she was a new believer. They have encouraged her and supported her right from her early days as a new christian. They now are a blessing, encouragement and support to our whole family. We were so happy to stay with them and have them meet our children. Thank you Pete and Sue for your ministry in our lives. We love you!
