Tyndale’s Health<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We are so thankful for all of you.  Thank you for praying for Tyndale’s health,\nand for us as we have worked to get him the care he needs.  We ended up postponing his appointment in\nSingapore from Dec 29 to Jan 3 in order to avoid the holiday travel rush.  And DJ and I both went to Singapore with him.  Some friends of ours graciously allowed Areli\nand Galilee to stay with them for the 4 nights we were gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hospital food was actually really good. \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Upon being seen by the pediatric immunologist, Tyndale was immediately admitted to the hospital to be given steroids via IV in order to get his Henoch-Schonlein purpura under control.\u00a0 We noticed immediate improvement in Tyndale’s pain levels after he received his first dose of the medicine–he was finally able to sleep soundly all night without stomach pain for the first time in almost 2 weeks.\u00a0 After the first 3 days of IV treatments, he was released from the hospital and allowed return home and continue his medications orally.\u00a0 He will need to continue them in gradually decreasing doses for about the next month, and then the hope is that he’ll be able to stop the medicines and his HSP won’t recur.\u00a0 Please be praying with us that this will be what happens.\u00a0 He is scheduled to have a follow-up appointment with the immunologist next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a day pass from the hospital, we visited the nearby botanical gardens.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Two days after we returned from our medical trip with\nTyndale, the kids started back to school for the second semester of their\nschool year.  Please pray that the Lord\nwill protect Tyndale from contact with any viruses or other illnesses at school\n(or anywhere else) during the next month or so while his immune system is weakened\nby the steroid treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DJ and I have jumped back in to our work responsibilities\ntoo.  I’ve gotten the opportunity to sit\nin and observe a couple language sessions with different students yesterday and\ntoday.  It’s been encouraging to see\ntheir progress and talk together with them about things they can do to keep\nmaking progress.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
