The kids enjoyed their summer break. Areli and Tyndale just went back to school day before yesterday. Areli is a senior now, and Tyndale is a freshman. Galilee is starting to study for her GED (high school equivalency exam) which she hopes to take sometime this upcoming year. She continues to have migraines but they are mostly manageable now, and she has continued to gain back her strength and energy. Lots of walks to the river to swim this summer have helped with that.

DJ is still working on certifications (it’s amazing how many there are for network administrators!) He’s also helping to manage some wireless networks now. I am continuing to write chapters for the Culture & Language Acquisition Activities book, and joining meetings a couple times a week with the team working on mapping out monthly guidance for culture & language learners. In September, Lord willing, I’ll remotely oversee Stage 3 evaluations for a team back in Asia learning a remote ethnic language. In the past I made a couple trips to give them their first two evaluations. I’d appreciate prayers as trying to oversee the evaluation process from afar is tricky. I’m really thankful for co-workers in the country who are willing to travel to the village to lead the evaluations on-site, record everything, and send it to me. Please pray for safe travels and mental energy for them as well as for the team being evaluated.

Our garden is still going strong, and we’re still canning, freezing, dehydrating, and eating lots of wonderful produce.
