We’ve been adjusting and getting into the swing of things with the kids’ fall school schedules, as I’m sure many of you have too. Areli is doing well in the dorm and in her classes, and making friends at college. These are answers to prayer for which we are very thankful. We’re also thankful that she gets to come home every weekend. Galilee is trying to get her migraines more under control before starting online classes, so it looks like that may not happen until next semester. A number of us seem to have gotten a mild case of Covid or something about a month ago, and that has caused a setback in Galilee’s health. Thankfully it’s nowhere near as severe as whatever caused her major health spiral three years ago, but we are praying that the affects of whatever it was will go away soon.

Tyndale’s sophomore year is going well so far. His FFA competitions haven’t started yet, so he’s had some time on weekends to hang out with his cousins whom he is good friends with. Unfortunately, he has also seen an increase in his migraines since whatever virus he brought home from his trip and shared with the rest of us. The team doesn’t have internet access in their village, so they had to send all of their evaluation recordings out at the same time when they came out to town. That meant that Jennifer spent a full day listening to hours and hours of recordings of the team members speaking in the ethnic language and native speakers giving translations into the national language. It was a very long day, but also encouraging to see all the things the team can communicate now. I’m also so thankful for my two co-workers who made the trip all the way into the village to spend time with the team and collect all of those recordings! Some of the team members may only need one or two more evaluations before they are ready to start doing Bible translation and developing Bible lessons for the people group they serve with. Please pray for the team’s progress and for open hearts among their friends to hear and understand the good news about Jesus. After the long day of listening to recordings, Jennifer was able to write evaluation reports for each member of the team and then meet back with them to discuss things they can be doing to keep making progress. Next month I’ll meet with them again to give ‘kick-offs’ into the next stages of their studies.

DJ is busy with his ministry responsibilities as a network administrator for our mission’s home office, and assisting with the networks at the training centers.
