After graduating from high school I sent my application to the New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha,Wisconsin.\u00a0 In August of 1969 I began my training to become a missionary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julie<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1022\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1022\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/DSC012951.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1022\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/DSC012951-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Julie Teaching Literacy.\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/DSC012951-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/DSC012951.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1022\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Julie teaching literacy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I grew up in a loving Christian home where church &amp; God was the center of our lives.\u00a0 We often invited the guest speaker or visiting missionary to stay in our home. \u00a0I went to Prescott Pines Bible camp each summer for a week.\u00a0 At camp I heard a missionary speak &amp; I dedicated my life to God when I was 12 years old to be a missionary.\u00a0 When I was 19 years old \u00a0Mel Wyma a missionary from New Tribes Mission came to my home church to speak.\u00a0 God used him to challenge me for missions to tribal people and in a week I was off to the New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha,Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1024\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1024\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/08Nov-0453.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1024\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/08Nov-0453-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"bible class.\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/08Nov-0453-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/don-flower\/files\/2012\/01\/08Nov-0453.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1024\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bible class<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Julie<\/strong> flew from Arizona &amp; <strong>Don<\/strong> flew from Florida to both meet for the first time at the New Tribes Mission Bible Institute.\u00a0 Of course it was love at first sight.\u00a0 smile\u00a0 We were married Dec. 19, 1971.\u00a0 We completed the New Tribes Mission Training in May 1973 and we set a date to fly to Paraguay, SA for the first of the year.\u00a0 We traveled visiting family &amp; churches for 6 months. January 1974 we arrived in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-dd\">God has been so faithful through the years.\u00a0 We have been so privileged to serve in the mission outreach in Paraguay.
