May, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"null\">Dear Partners,<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"null\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Rest For the Wicked (Me)<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Cheryl and I trust that you all are doing all right.\u00a0 It has been a busy Spring and I am finally getting a break from all of my traveling to spend some time at home getting some things done around the house and also preparing for three events this summer and also for the Fall when business will pick up like usual.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1155 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-125x94.jpg 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-250x188.jpg 250w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-337x253.jpg 337w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_6349-1920x1440.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Ministry wise, we have really enjoyed sharing with college students, teaching Perspectives, taking folks to our training center, being involved with students whom we know in the training and so on.\u00a0 To invest in people\u2019s lives is a great honor and\u00a0 to see them moving on to reach others is what encourages us the most.<\/p>\n<p>To that, we have added a podcast called, \u201cThe PreMature Bible Institute.\u201d\u00a0 In this podcast, I am trying to share God\u2019s story with college students and other interested individuals the way we did when we were with the Solong people.\u00a0 It has been fun and an encouragement to me once again to to think through what the Lord is trying to communicate to us.\u00a0 It isn\u2019t meant to be professional, just honest.\u00a0 At the end of this letter, you can find the info needed to listen to it if you want to.\u00a0 I would be honored if you would.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"null\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Other Future Plans<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I also have two other things in the works but a little background first.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, I was driving down the road and thinking, \u201cWhat if something happens where I cannot travel anymore?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cHow could I stay involved in informing people of the needs of tribal people?\u201d\u00a0 So, I decided to work on a strategy statement that could help guide me or help me think through what the Lord would have me to do.\u00a0 Art Carney, a famous actor from the 40\u2019s &amp; 50\u2019s once said that retirement is just being tired twice.\u00a0 First you are tired of working and then you are tired of not working.\u00a0 We don\u2019t want to retire, just keep going to our last breath.\u00a0 I just found that strategy statement at the end of last year.\u00a0 You know what I entitled it?\u00a0 \u201cThe Pre-Mature Bible Institute.\u201d\u00a0 How ironic.<\/p>\n<p>The two things I want to accomplish is:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A video podcast series on what it takes to see indigenous churches to maturity<\/li>\n<li>Teaching Perspectives from a tribal person\u2019s perspective.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Too often, I think we forget about the people we are reaching and getting their input on some of the ideas that we bring to them.\u00a0 I have already started to incorporate some of their thoughts into my lessons but want to do more of this.\u00a0 I think that this will absolutely transform people\u2019s views on church-planting in remote cultures.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"null\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Our Family<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We all have been doing well.\u00a0 Most of our family was hit this Spring with the creeping crud that went around through the country.\u00a0 Cheryl almost <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1156\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-125x94.jpg 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-250x188.jpg 250w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-337x253.jpg 337w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2018\/05\/IMG_5145-1920x1440.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>avoided all of it but the last week has had the cough.\u00a0 I got hit with the flu earlier in the semester but no recurrence of that plague.\u00a0 Just got a cold a couple of times.<\/p>\n<p>Our kids are doing well.\u00a0 Daniel &amp; possibly four that are coming into Ethnos360 as a result of your partnership.\u00a0 It takes time to invest in them and help them to see the realities of what missionary work entails.\u00a0 After taking a group of students from University of Missouri\u00a0 (Missou)to our training center, I asked them what they were thinking on the drive down and then what they thought after seeing the training.\u00a0 They said that when they were driving down to the MTC, they thought that missionary work was basically traveling to the country you want to be involved in, being dropped off somewhere and then trying to figure out, on your own, what to do next.\u00a0 After they had the tour, they said that now they saw how much preparation is needed to do the job well and leave something that will last for a long time.\u00a0 Mission accomplished.\u00a0 Now it is up to them to decide what to do with that information and how they can be involved in reaching those who have never heard.\u00a0 Pray for them.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"null\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Thank You<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We just want to thank you for your prayers and continued involvement in this ministry. \u00a0 The Lord will not forget your work and labor of love.<\/p>\n<p>Only through Him Who is Worthy,<\/p>\n<p>Doug &amp;
