Thanks To My Wife<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Real Woman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I just want to say thanks to my wife who has been with me for over 40 years now.\u00a0 She has been in the most unfriendly environments you could imagine, like out on an ocean in an open 19 foot dinghy while a storm was going on.\u00a0 She lived on an island where malaria was always present, though she never contracted that sickness.\u00a0 She lived in one room apartments while in the training and moving up to a two room apartment while we were waiting to move into a tribe in Papua New Guinea.\u00a0 For two years she showered in an outdoor shower which our family shared with another family.\u00a0 Scheduling was interesting between 10 people.<\/p>\n

So Cheryl, I just want to say thanks for allowing yourself to be used this way so that some tribal people could hear the gospel of the grace of God.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Our 40th Anniversary Trip<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Cheryl and I decided to go to Glacier National Park in Montana.\u00a0 We last visited the park after we became believers and so thought it was fitting to revisit it one more time in our life.\u00a0 It was beautiful but it was a long drive.\u00a0 Six of the eight day trip was just driving to get there and back.<\/p>\n

On the way, we stopped to visit an old friend from our church.\u00a0 Ron Frank moved up to Billings, MT in 2001 and I was one of the men who helped him move up there.\u00a0 On the way back, we stopped into a service station to refuel.\u00a0 It was the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.\u00a0 We went inside just before the second plane hit the Twin Towers.\u00a0 It is not a day I will forget.<\/p>\n

From Ron\u2019s house, we traveled on up to Glacier Park and took in the beauty of the place.\u00a0 It is simply one of the most beautiful places in the States.\u00a0 The grandeur of the park is something that you have to see for yourself.

Back To Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n

Van Scyocs & Richards<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

After driving 3,500 miles, I left two days later for Little Rock, AR to take a youth pastor and his wife up to our Missionary Training Center. \u00a0Cody & Melissa Van Scyoc, from Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood, AR wanted to go and visit a couple of students, the Richards, to let them know that they cared for them and wanted to see the training that their members are involved in.\u00a0 It was a great time and we were able to start building a relationship between the home church and our mission agency.<\/p>\n

I took them back to Arkansas and then drove back to the training center in Missouri for meetings with some men from another mission organization to discuss a partnership between them and NTM.\u00a0 That encounter was even better than could be imagined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Fall is going to be so busy, I don\u2019t know how it all can be done but that is the nature of rep work.\u00a0 Cheryl and I will be in southeast Kansas for a speaking engagement, then I will head to NTBI in Waukesha, WI.\u00a0 Leaving there, I will head to Chicago for Moody Bible Institutes annual mission conference.\u00a0 From there, well, I will put the schedule on the next page.\u00a0 No need to bore you with the details.<\/p>\n

Closing thoughts<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cheryl and I thank you for all you have done for us in prayers, finances and especially housing when we am on the road.\u00a0 Many of you have opened up your homes for us to stay when we are in your areas.\u00a0 Thanks for all you do.<\/p>\n

None of us knows whether the Lord will return before we leave this world but whether in the body or out, we are the Lord\u2019s.\u00a0 Thanks for your partnership in the gospel from the first day till now.
\nAs I said before, this Fall will be filled with a lot of driving to visit colleges, Bible schools, seminaries, Perspective classes and churches.<\/p>\n

We find it a privilege to see folks, young and old, who are willing to be a part of the Lord\u2019s work in whatever way that the Lord sees fit.\u00a0 There is so much work to be done and only as we are obedient to Him and trust in His goodness, grace and knowledge of how we should approach His work will the task be done well.
