Nearly 2,010 years ago an event took place which could never be repeated. \u00a0The Son of God became the Son of Man. \u00a0The Lord decided to enter the human race and identify with us all and one of the first evidences of this identification was that He cried, just like we all did when we were born.<\/p>\n
So many firsts took place on that day. \u00a0God cried, He breathed, He ate, He slept, He was given birth to and many other things that we all do out of necessity but in His case He chose to do those, not out of necessity for Himself, but for us. \u00a0What humility! \u00a0To become like us in order to redeem us. \u00a0May we always be grateful for His sacrifice and care for us.<\/p>\n
Cheryl and I have had a good year. \u00a0We are very grateful for all He has allowed us to do in ministry and life. \u00a0Many students are getting ready to be trained as missionaries, others are getting closer to finishing their training and moving to another country to reach tribal people and so we are very thankful that we were able to be a part in some of their lives. \u00a0Also, many tribal people have not only come to realize the significance of Christ’s birth and death but they themselves are carrying this message to other villages in their area. \u00a0Thank you for your part in reaching the most unreached.<\/p>\n
Our family has been a blessing to be around.<\/p>\n
Leah is still managing an On The Border restaurant and in a Bible study with our daughter-in-law, Jane.<\/p>\n
Daniel and Jane are busy with life and involved in different kinds of ministry in their church. \u00a0Daniel is working two jobs right now and looking for a third, part-time job and Jane is working at 1st E Free as a secretary a couple of days a week. \u00a0Maddie, their daughter and our granddaughter started school this year. \u00a0The other night, I was reading to her about Adam and Eve’s decision to disobey God and in trying to explain how sin separates us from God, I used a leaf as an example of what happens when it is cut off from the source of its life. \u00a0Maddie said that it gets “crunchy.” \u00a0Then she asked me, “When we die, do we get “crunchy?” \u00a0I had to laugh.<\/p>\n
Joel and Katie are doing well. \u00a0They have been married for a little over a year now. \u00a0Katie works as a pharmacy tech at Dillons, a regional store chain. \u00a0This is where Joel and Katie met. \u00a0Joel just changed jobs and is working at Walton’s, a meat-processing and equipment supplier. \u00a0The second largest in the U.S.
\nThey are all doing fine and we enjoy having them close by where we are able to see them often.<\/p>\n
Cheryl and I want to thank all of you for your love, prayers, hospitality and financial support in the past year. Without you, many young folks would not know that there are tribal people around the world who have yet to hear the wonderful news that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.<\/p>\n
We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and even though the new year looks like it will be a real challenge for all of us, we have the LORD. \u00a0He alone knows what our futures hold and will never bring anything into our lives that is not for our benefit, that is, ultimately He will use events in each of our lives to bring us to Him. \u00a0Let’s remember that whatever He is, He is all of the time to an infinite degree. \u00a0That is something that we can all rest in. \u00a0Amen!<\/p>\n
Keep the faith, everyone. \u00a0Jesus Christ IS the Lord!<\/p>\n
