say, “Only YOU can prevent forest fires!” It was a reminder of the danger of not being aware of the situation you were in with respect to camp fires, smoking and other possibilities of starting fires and causing destruction and even death.

Only YOU can prevent the gospel from reaching others. The Lord has given us everything we need to reach a lost and dying world. He has given the Word of God to guide us, the Spirit of God to empower us and the Church of God to send us. What more do we need? We only lack the motivation to do it.

Hitting the Road

As we get ready to hit the road again, I am reminded of how easy it can be to be discouraged at the lack of results that we often see. We realize that as we travel down the road we may not seem to be making any headway in mobilizing potential missionaries but today I started writing down the names of folks who are not on a mission field and are not yet in training but are really desirous to be involved in reaching tribal people. Over 25 students and families are seriously considering giving their lives to reach tribal people. This has been very encouraging for us to realize. Please pray that they will pray about this and count the cost of being a disciple.

Opportunities

The semester has started and several opportunities are opening up.

I traveled up to Trinity International University for their annual mission conference. I had a wonderful time setting up a display and was able to speak in three classes on subjects ranging from world-view to church planting. The school and students were great. On the way there, I had a great time with our friends, the Baughers.

I also was able to attend a Romanian church while there. The Murg family was very gracious in hosting me while I went to an event with the youth in which we heard the cousin of Al Capone speak. He was great and shared about purity. He is pastoring a church in California at the moment. I was also able to share int he English portion of Logos Baptist Church while there. They were so kind to allow me to be a part of their service.

I left Trinity on Friday, drove to NTM’s Missionary Training Center and spend the night. I had supper with the Schroeders and they encouraged me on the way. Then I traveled to Canton, TX for a mission conference at Lakeside Baptist Church. It was a wonderful time and the folks could not have been nicer. I don’t think I have ever had a more interactive group than these folks. It was great. I am now in Rockwall, TX and saw our daughter Leah and am spend a couple of nights with Jake and Ally Glover, friends from the NTM training. Tomorrow, I will have lunch with some Chinese friends and on Tuesday, I will display at Dallas Seminary, spend the night with some potential missionaries, drive to Oklahoma City and have lunch with some other potential missionaries and then travel home. Thanks for your prayers.

Future Opportunities

I will return from this trip on Wednesday and then on Friday I will be in Tulsa for a conference for the weekend. Moody Bible Institute will have their annual conference a week later and then Grace College in Winona Lake, IN will host their annual conference the following week. And that will finish October.

New Member

The end of October will bring us a new member into our family. Our son and daughter-in-law Jane will be having their second child. Little Henry Daniel Schaible will enter the world and we ask that you pray for a safe delivery for Jane and that both Maddie and little Henry will grow up to be servants of the Lord Jesus.

Thank You

Cheryl and I thank you all so much for your part in praying and giving so that we can find more laborers for tribal people. Without your help, some of these tribes would never hear. In closing, I want to share the words of a song that has challenged us over the years but is not sung anymore. Enjoy and reflect.

SO SEND I YOU!

So send I you to labor unrewarded,
To serve unpaid, unloved, unsought, unknown,<br
