{"id":974,"date":"2016-04-23T18:54:34","date_gmt":"2016-04-23T23:54:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/?p=974"},"modified":"2016-04-23T18:54:34","modified_gmt":"2016-04-23T23:54:34","slug":"shifting-into-high-gear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/2016\/04\/23\/shifting-into-high-gear\/","title":{"rendered":"Shifting Into High Gear!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-945 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2016\/03\/PNG-300x156.png\" alt=\"PNG\" width=\"745\" height=\"387\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2016\/03\/PNG-300x156.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2016\/03\/PNG-600x312.png 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/doug-schaible\/files\/2016\/03\/PNG.png 992w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 745px) 100vw, 745px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Encouraged To Encourage Others<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hello Friends,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"mc-toc-title\">\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Shifting Into High Gear<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nIt has been a busy semester to say the least and it will end the same way. \u00a0I just returned from our Missionary Training Center where I took two families to get a glimpse of what their training would look like\u00a0and they are wanting to start as soon as possible so that is an encouragement.<\/p>\n<p>I also was able to visit with an old friend this past week. \u00a0For those of us old enough to remember the original EE-TAOW video, when it was in VHS format and was actually a promotion for NTM&#8217;s Interface program, a short-term educational opportunity in Papua New Guinea with the purpose\u00a0of helping people understand the realities of missionary work and its implications,\u00a0Ken Harder was one of the people in that video promoting the Interface program. \u00a0He and his wife, Stella\u00a0became\u00a0American citizens and I wanted to be there for their naturalization. \u00a0Ken is a pastor in southwest Kansas now.<\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday, I left\u00a0to teach Perspectives in McCook, Kearney\u00a0and Columbus, NE. \u00a0This\u00a0week, I will be teaching Perspectives in Topeka and Manhattan, KS and then head up to New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI to visit some of the students whom I know and I\u00a0will also speak in chapel. \u00a0Cheryl and I\u00a0will finish out May in a mission conference in Hugoton, KS. \u00a0This summer will be busy, though.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Things To Come<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nJune will have me teaching SS at First E Free in Wichita and later in the month I will be heading to Dallas to teach in a Perspectives Intensive class. After that,\u00a0Cheryl and I will be involved at First E Free again for their annual Mission Sunday time. \u00a0It will be great.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/e87f3bec68910b2b1983f82df\/images\/ac00982c-9384-4736-a4eb-c5c90eb89381.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"191\" align=\"left\" data-cke-saved-src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/e87f3bec68910b2b1983f82df\/images\/ac00982c-9384-4736-a4eb-c5c90eb89381.jpg\" \/>In mid-July I will be involved in the Perspectives National Conference in Baltimore and right after that I will be heading to Papua New Guinea to visit some of the folks whom we have been involved with over the years to be an encouragement and blessing. \u00a0We will be blessed also. \u00a0I will visit our Field Headquarters, the Wantakia language group, attend a tribal church conference and finally, head home. \u00a0Thank the Lord for new arteries to keep me going.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, we want to thank you for your continued support and prayers. \u00a0You have kept us going and challenging and seeing new families and single folks coming into NTM to reach the uttermost parts of the earth. \u00a0Your generosity and faithfulness have directly led to people being reached who could not have been if someone had\u00a0not\u00a0gone to tell them. \u00a0Thanks again.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Close.\u00a0Very, Very Close<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nOne last thing. \u00a0Your gifts toward my trip to PNG have really counted. \u00a0We are about 90% there and believe that the Lord will provide the rest. \u00a0He always does. \u00a0Thanks for your kindness.<\/p>\n<p>If you would still like to help towards this project, we would appreciate any prayers and donations toward this project. \u00a0If through prayerful consideration God is leading you to give financially, please make the donation by check or online.<\/p>\n<p>If by check, make it payable to New Tribes Mission and attach a note that states: \u201cDoug Schaible trip to PNG\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Send it to:<br \/>\nNew Tribes Mission<br \/>\n1000 E First St<br \/>\nSanford, FL \u00a032771<\/p>\n<p>You can also give by credit card or EFT. \u00a0If you would prefer to do that over the phone rather than online, call our NTM USA Home Office at\u00a0(866) 547-2460, ext. 1245.
