GRID TECH&#8217;S Tech Specialist Class has come to a close for the year."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in August of 2020 we started our Tech Specialist class with 5 men.\u00a0 These men have the desire to serve the Lord over seas but wanted to have more advanced training in solar, AC and DC power, generators, building, water purification, refrigeration and welding to list a few.\u00a0 Here at OFF GRID TECH we were able to provide them with four very in-depth modules that cover all they were looking for and more.\u00a0 The four modules that were taught are, Solar Electric Technology that has 147 classroom hours, Power systems that has 147 classroom hours, Construction Technology that has 147 classroom hours and Equipment Maintenance that has 154 classroom hours.\u00a0 Yes, that is a lot of classroom hours but those hours are not just in a class room with lecture but out doing labs on those topics as well as independent study on different topics that will relate to the area they are going to serve in.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/ernest-jones\/files\/2020\/12\/20200818_160836-scaled.jpg\">\u00a0 <\/a><a sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of the labs beside what you see in the pictures above, was for them to do a radio order.\u00a0 The regular students were participate in Simple Living class, where they are living out in the woods for a while.\u00a0 During this time of living in the woods they get the chance to order what ever they need by radio.\u00a0 This is a simulation for how it is done when you live in a remote location.\u00a0 You call by radio and order what you need, a buyer takes the order and then gets what is needed and then packs it on the plane to be flown into your location.\u00a0 The Tech Specialists men had the chance to be the buyer.\u00a0 They took the orders and then went and picked up what was ordered and then spill over into the Simple Living class.\u00a0 In the small engines class we cover all types of small engines but we do focus on chainsaws a lot.\u00a0 A chainsaw is used a lot over seas, so we spend time on how to fix and maintain them as well as how to use them safely.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/ernest-jones\/files\/2021\/03\/IMG_5631-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" the different types of welding but focused on SMAW or stick welding.\u00a0 Stick welding is still the main welding type that is available in the areas we work.<\/p>\n<p><a
