#1 The Mwinika being a people of fishers, the following skid was really well appreciated today. This is something they can relate to!
#2 The three actors are getting ready. Behind the tree is the man in the “canoe” with his two friends who will stay on the shore to pull the net back in after its been taken out to the deep water by the canoe.
#3 Our guy “canoes” out into the deep water, dropping the net as he goes. Just the way the Mwinika does it! The comments at this stage was already loud and excited! This they have LIVED!
#4 Man over board!! He fell into the water and is wildly thrashing about to keep his head above “water”! One of his friends on land is loudly shouting: “Grab the net!! Grab the net!! We will pull you in!” But the drowning man is trying to save himself… (He was a great “drowning man”!).
The other friend, sits down and waits…
#5 Finally the poor guy gives out and can’t save himself anymore. He is tired and now he shouts for help! Help! The friend who waited for him to ask for help, runs to save him.
#6 Being saved… on his friends back, he is dragged back through “swirling waters” to the beach while the crowd is cheering them on. Finally he is saved, but only when his own strength gave out and he admitted that he needed help.
#7 The crowd’s reaction! They loved it! But best of all: many understood. In fact after this skid, Francois also explained again what happened and related it to what God is teaching us: He wants to save us, but first we need to admit that with our own power and strength we cannot save ourselves. The comments around us were: “That is true! Very true!”
During the next two days, the Mwinika will be taught about the Law. What we hope to underline through the teaching is that it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone of us to fully obey all the commandments of God. None of us are holy and can approach Him. All of us have sin… In our own power and strength and deeds, we cannot save ourselves and make ourselves “right” before God.
Please pray, as this is a crucial point in the teaching.
