Mwinika Bible teaching and Literacy update

June 6, 2011 by Nadia Hattingh

Life has been crazy-busy these last two weeks as we near the end of the teaching (only 4 weeks left!) as well as our time for home assignment (end of July). We also had the “Dia das Crianças” (Children’s Day) last week. This is the biggest national holiday for the Mwinika. (More in a separate blog about this).

We have also seen the lowest yet attendance for the Bible teaching as well as the Literacy… But still, those that come are fully engaged and are both the influential people in our community and a good representative of the community as a whole (men, women, old, young, and both leaders of both religions). Please pray for the Mwinika as they are now learning about the Messiah in the New Testament and this is really challenging their world view.
