Losses, light and being thankful

On rainy, dark days like today, we need a lamp in the school to see for the first hour or sometimes more!

Written June 10 and a bit out of date. Our internet connection was not working for about 10 days. However, our challenges are still the same. It is interesting that we often see a breakdown in communication whenever things getting though. We think that Satan knows how much power there is in the prayers of godly people! 🙂 Thank you for praying, even (and especially!) when you don’t hear from us…

The last week has been quite eventful…

Our solar panels have been stolen! These panels were connected to our water pump and the result: back to carrying water in bucks again! In the mean time we have removed the panels from the schoolroom to connect it to the pump. We have now have a limited water supply again, but no power on the building where we removed the panels from! 🙂 All this has made us very aware of how far we have come… from tents and lamps and buckets, to a house with solar panels and running water. We are thankful for what we have!

This event however paled in comparison to the car accident of our friends! Our colleagues were on their way to visit us for the week, when their car overturned and rolled… By sheer miracle they all (including a toddler and baby) came away with only a few scratches! Looking at the pictures of the wrecked car, we are astounded at the Supernatural protection over this family! Praise the Lord!

Soon after the accident people stopped and helped them. One of which was a nun who took them to their place where they were able to shower and eat before our team mates from the city came to get them in two cars. The Lord was covering them with His love and care in the midst of this traumatic experience.

After all has been said and done, we are grateful for our Lord’s protection and care – in both cases. However, we are now without power and our friends without a vehicle (they got this vehicle only a month ago… after praying for it for more than a year!).

We look to our Father who owns all the cattle on a 1000 hills to provide in all our needs! Thank you for praying for our protection too.
