“… and so I stand here to testify to high and low alike, stating only what the prophets and Moses said would happen- that the Christ would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead and would announce light to our people and the gentiles.” Act 26:24b, 23
Christ is risen!
But in a community still shrouded in darkness, the Messages still has not come.
Ironically we had none less than THREE funerals this week! One funeral in our community and two in the Henderson community. These last two funerals prevented the Bible teaching from continuing and therefore, the majority of Mwinika have still not heard about the Redeemer’s death and resurrection!
What worse than see people we know dying, lost and hopeless, to underline the complete darkness the Mwinika live in? What can be more heart wrenching than to hear those we love cry out: “My brother (or sister, or mother, or father) where are you now?” And we do know. They entered an eternity without God.
Although we are sad that the last lessons could not be taught this week, we also have our Hope in Him who we know has our “times” in His hand. We pray that these funerals will only contribute to the preparing of the hearts of those that must hear, and be saved.
· Pray for the last two lessons to taught next week (July 11 & 12).
· Pray for prepared and open hearts and minds.
