Some photos of the airfield in our closest town (about 1 hour from us).
But first: unloading the plane with our supplies from the city. We are glad to get some fresh veggies, powdered milk and canned food again! We just finished the last of much of our food a few days ago – good timing! Our office in the city bought and sent it to us. We are so grateful to our support team in the city who makes our living out in the sticks possible.
The town people: so excited about the rare sight of an airplane. The airfield is functional, but only small airplanes can land here and without much tourism, airplanes are not a daily sight! 🙂
Getting ready to taxi out. Check our airstrip! These MAF pilots are amazing!
The view 180 degrees to the other side of the previous picture: the airport! 🙂 The view of the Indian ocean in the distance makes up however for the sad looking building. It surly is a most beautiful and unique “airport”! The airstrip ends at a cliff, dropping down to the water below. It is an amazing sight to fly out over all that rugged rocks and blue-blue ocean!
Waiting at the car to return home, with a “town” baby at first most upset for losing his mom in the crush of people. He walked into my open arms, happy as a clam to be picked up. 🙂 (I got REALLY sunburned waiting at the airstrip!).
