“I still can’t believe that NO ONE told us this before.” Papa Bakar, like many others, came to the teaching in our village daily for 6 months. He testifies that he believes what was taught is true, but struggled to understand how a life time of trying to please God; a life time of trying to get enough “points” together to make it to heaven, suddenly does not count any more…
“How is it that no-one told us? How can it be that we have followed a religion for generations and generations that is no more than a hollow lie of Satan? So many before us have died and are lost.”
How do we explain that the Church knows the Truth, but does not put all her effort, resources and time into reaching those who have not heard the Good News before?
We teach the Mwinika: seek first the kingdom of Heaven, and then all these things will be added onto you. Does that then not apply to all of us?
After struggling with the questions of being deceived for generations, Papa Bakar finally concluded Friday afternoon (our 2nd last lesson!): “We have to go out and tell everyone about Jesus! We should tell everyone and if they accept it, they accept it. If they don’t, they don’t. But we MUST tell them!”
He continued: “God loves us and wants us to be saved. Satan attacks us and does not want our family to know the truth. We should not let anything stand in our way! We must use the voice players [with the lessons and Scripture recorded on it], we must go out and tell this Good News!”
