It is with great joy that we can report that the cyclone dissipated completely before it hit us! The Mwinika believers thank the Lord with us for His protection and provision! As we prayed together as a group yesterday morning before starting the work, we looked up into the blue-blue sky overhead and praised the Lord! “Indeed”, they acknowledged, “the Lord has power over the wind and rain…”
Francois, Franco and Waldo are still battling with the worst flu we’ve ever had! Francois and Waldo are doing decidedly better, thanks to your prayers. Franco still has a hard time, especially late afternoon and at night. He has lost a great deal of weight, (of which he was quite chuffed in the beginning! but now he dreams of the day that he will be able to drink a glassful of water without hurting like crazy). My men are truly suffering. Heidi is still well, although tired and my body is warring too to NOT give completely in to this flu!
It is quite scary at times to see my guys hurting, not able to swallow or take a full breath of air because of their swollen throats, hot with fever and coughing, but without a doctor or pharmacy close by to run to… Through all this, the Lord is our Shepherd and our shield.
Please continue to pray for complete healing and full recovery!
Please pray too for our work permit (DIRE) yearly renewals. It must be done in the main town of our province (5-6 hours on a BAD road away) before 11 April. None of us are strong or healthy enough at the moment to make the trip… For every day that we miss the renewal date, we must pay several hundreds of Rands/meticais in fines. Just a few days later, 14 April, we must be at a workshop and later for meetings in the big city – 7 hours away – in the OPPOSITE direction! The way we feel now, just a little impossible!
In the mean time, the work continues.. We praise the Lord for the believers who have taken full ownership over the teaching of the Bible lessons!! Pray that they will stay strong in the Lord. We are encouraged and blessed by these brothers and sisters in Christ. Yesterday one guy prayed: “Lord, please heal Francois and his children. Thank you Lord God that you have send Francois so far from his family and home to come here to tell us the Good News of Jesus the Saviour. Lord, if it wasn’t for this, we would not have known you and would still have been lost. For this, we thank you.”
Thank you for praying so that the lost may hear and be saved.
