Hendersons to come back in July!

May 31, 2014 by Nadia Hattingh

The Lord’s timing is always 100%! Our partners in the Mwinika work, Phil and Elin Henderson are returning, God willing, in July after a two year stretch away. Their daughter needed therapy for a learning problem and they were advised to stay in the States for the duration of this time. Callie has worked very hard and did well during the last tests, so much so, that she will be able to go to a dorm school in August! We are delighted that the Hendersons are retuning! Please pray for them during these last weeks’ preparation, packing up and visits to supporting churches. We pray too that their transition back will be smooth – lots of big changes in a few short years…

Our daughter, Heidi and Callie were best friends and their going away was really hard for Heidi to adapt to. Now that we know for sure that Callie is not returning with her family, Heidi is very sad. Life here can be lonely for a shy, budding teenager… We are thankful to see that she is growing closer to the Lord through this. We appreciate your prayers for Heidi.

Photo: Taken on Heidi’s 13th birthday last month while Phil and Daudi (missionary from Tanzania) visited us. She is holding the presents Callie sent her :). (The picture was taken in our bedroom since Francois was very sick with measles at that time and we wanted to include him in the festivities!).
