Moving into a new location

July 6, 2014 by Nadia Hattingh

We have been absolutely thrilled to be part of the first outreach of the very new Mwinika church to another people group!

During this last weekend, Abar, Liberty and their two young children, moved into Alana’s village which is predominantly Marevone (a people group who’s language is very close to eMwinika) to start with the Literacy classes and Bible teaching from Genesis to Revelation. The best way, I think, to share with you this historic moment, is through the images we took…

The Move: leaving to go… Abar and his wife and two children left with us – and most of their house hold items – early on Friday morning.

The new house Abar and Liberia were overjoyed about the house that the community chose for them. Abar was worried that the house he looked at the previous time, did not have a good front door that can lock. The community decided to pool money together to rent this house close to the site for the teaching. This is unprecedented… People he hardly knows renting a house for them?! Abar testified to the Lord’s provision in giving them this even-better-than-their-own house without any effort from his side. God is good.

Moving in We realized anew with how little a person can live… Liberia was able to “move in” within 30 minutes!

Life in a new location Doing the washing Liberty seemed to be unfazed by the new challenges of making a home in a new place. Whenever I would ask her how she is doing in this regard, she would answer: “Only with God’s help!”

Local Market Liberty was very happy to see that the local market has everything she needs. Alana’s village is a good sized town (in Mwinika terms!) and the market is always very busy. Here Francois is making new friends :)!

Eating together We enjoyed eating together, the mutual fellowship encouraging us all!

Going to bed with the chickens We were all in bed by 20:00 each night!
