In record time.

We have heard the “horror stories” about this process, but are praying for a miracle. Please pray with us that the paperwork will got ahead smoothly, without any more halts and waiting.

We have only one week left to get the vehicles exported… and then imported. This is the only way we can see that would give Francois a week to get back home (a good +-2000km and many days’ drive from the capital), set thing up again at home after many months away so that it is liveable again, and then leave for meetings and ministry in West-Africa (two weeks from now). If not, Waldo, Franco and I are a bit stuck in the middle of nowhere… (Heidi is staying with my family until the end of June).

Waldo and I am in the north of Mozambique where I am attending a Literacy Workshop. We can’t go home until we have running water, working electricity and perhaps the most important: a reliable vehicle for when our partners and Francois all leave for West Africa in two weeks’ time.

I suppose we could camp at home, but in talking to leadership they feel that it is simply too risky and impractical.

In the meantime, Francois and Franco are still in South Africa (in another city away from family) trying to get the vehicles exported. The paper work is dragging and he had re-do some of the paper work due to a difference in what they suppose is needed on both countries’ sides.

What other options is there?

· Staying in the city up north until Francois return the end of June? What about Franco? And Waldo does not have enough schoolbooks to keep him working for so long… Also: my and Waldo’s chronic medicine is going to run out soon.

· Fly back to South Africa to wait there? It will cost so much!

· Fly Francois and Franco up to help get the house ready – the same as above.

· Get a temporary import and drive one vehicle up? This same vehicle has to be out of the country after 30 days, meaning a good few thousands of Rands for the round trip and many “lost” days on the road.

Importing a vehicle into Mozambique within a week seems impossible. But that is what we are praying for. We ask that you pray with us! We trust the Lord and His timing for us and pray that we will stay confident in knowing that no matter what happens, He is in control and has a purpose for it all. We belief that He gave us these vehicles, at the time He saw fit. May He be glorified in whatever circumstance we find ourselves!

Francois, Nadia, Franco, Heidi & Waldo

We wrote in our last newsletter about how we’ve been blessed: two vehicles to replace our tired and run down one!
