{"id":1633,"date":"2016-03-19T09:20:05","date_gmt":"2016-03-19T13:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/?p=1633"},"modified":"2016-03-19T09:20:05","modified_gmt":"2016-03-19T13:20:05","slug":"the-edge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/2016\/03\/19\/the-edge\/","title":{"rendered":"The Edge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1634\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/303\/files\/2016\/03\/AnaMaoma-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"197\" height=\"300\" rel=\"thumbnail\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1634\" title=\"AnaMaoma-cropped\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/303\/files\/2016\/03\/AnaMaoma-cropped-197x300.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/files\/2016\/03\/AnaMaoma-cropped-197x300.jpg 197w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/files\/2016\/03\/AnaMaoma-cropped-525x800.jpg 525w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/files\/2016\/03\/AnaMaoma-cropped.jpg 767w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 197px) 100vw, 197px\" \/><\/a>The Mwinika church is at a place where the emphasis should be on discipleship.\u00a0 That is after all what Jesus told his disciples: go and make disciples of all nations\u2026 Not: go and convert people, nor: go and start a church!\u00a0 Making disciples\u2026\u00a0 It is however easier said than done\u2026 no tick lists here and no programs that will produce good disciples!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So how do we know then that we are succeeding in our efforts?\u00a0 Well, the most natural outflowing of making disciples is when those we disciple will go and make more\u2026\u00a0 If not, something is very wrong.\u00a0\u00a0 <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1635\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/303\/files\/2016\/03\/Almal-lag-by-teaching.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" rel=\"thumbnail\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1635\" title=\"Almal-lag-by-teaching\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/303\/files\/2016\/03\/Almal-lag-by-teaching-300x225.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/files\/2016\/03\/Almal-lag-by-teaching-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/files\/2016\/03\/Almal-lag-by-teaching-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/francois-hattingh\/files\/2016\/03\/Almal-lag-by-teaching.jpg 1377w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> It is encouraging to see the growth in Mr Moma, who is one of the big chiefs\/kings in our area.\u00a0 All local authority in several villages, including ours, falls under him.\u00a0 He has been involved with us from day one when he chose and organized the workers who helped built our house!\u00a0 He went to the first Bible teaching in our partners\u2019 village as well as the teaching closer to our village in 2012-13.\u00a0 However, he was seldom seen at the believers\u2019 meetings for quite some time after that.\u00a0 Francois continued to visit him (he lives about 30 minutes\u2019 walk on a footpath from our house).\u00a0 Then one day during a visit, they got into a discussion about God.\u00a0 Since then Mr Moma has not missed one believers\u2019 meeting and is so enthusiastic, it is contagious!\u00a0 He has a burning heart to see his wife, his neighbors and everyone under his influence reached with the Gospel.\u00a0 His prayers are brimming with the desire to see the Good News coming to all Mwinika!\u00a0 He wants to see more disciples being made&#8230; Praise the Lord for touching his heart.\u00a0 May it yield a 100 fold!<\/p>\n<p>The thing with making disciples is that it grows exponentially! If we really want to stay relevant and true to our calling, we should always move towards the edge. (As one of our leaders, Danny, so well explained).
