\"\"<\/a>Yesterday afternoon we went by all our friends to say good-bye before we leave tomorrow for our 9 month home assignment.<\/p>\n

It was not easy to say good-bye to the people who has become so much part of our each day and lives. Even harder is leaving people like my Old Maye friend how we may not see again…<\/p>\n

MayeApete is so small now, there is hardly anything left of her. She knew we were coming and sat outside \u2013 all alone outside her tiny roughly built mud hut \u2013 on the ground waiting for us. So sad, so old. This was the first time that I have ever seen a Mwinika cry (outside a funeral or resent death) because of sadness. The tears continue to run down her face as she explained how much she is going to miss us\u2026<\/p>\n

MayeApete went faithfully every day to the teaching. One of the first things she wanted to confirm with us when we went to say good-bye is to know how she can continue to listen and be taught. Phil plans a one day a week visit to our community to touch base and teach. Pray!<\/p>\n

I had the immeasurable privilege to pray together with her! This was a first prayer with any Mwinika friend. She talked to God like she would to me – hand gestures and all! She told Him about all her sin – all the different husbands she had, all the bad things she did. She explained that she believe in the Redeemer and that she needs Him.<\/p>\n

She also prayed for all her children that have died already… Where are they now, Lord God? she prayed. And I had the difficult job to explain…<\/p>\n

Continue to pray, for MayeApete whose family are neglecting her that she will truly hold on to her Provider. Pray for each Mwinika who still has not heard the Truth \u2013 that they may hear soon and that they will believe!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
