As we made ready to go, Waldo asked: “Mom, are you SURE they still speak Afrikaans?” It very seldom happens here that they can play in their mother tongue! 🙂 On this picture, they are playing “emergency-emergency”. Helene (on the right) is the doctor (since her dad is a doctor) and Franco (here the patient) was the ambulance driver – now met with an accident himself (since his dad often is the local “ambulance driver” – hopefully NOT meeting with an accident!). This was a visit of meeting up with long time friends! Another friend (his wife and he are working under the Mwani people on an island close by) and their eldest son came to the main land and we could visit with them too! Our friends went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable… Thank you Arie, Marie and Theo! The visit ended with a (once a month) fellowship time together with some expat believers. (We met with Ghanaian, Swedish, British, Canadian, Ugandan, Mozambican, African-American and other believers – how much fun heaven is going to be!).
