Dani, the head Bible teacher and leader in one of the lowland Manubu’ churches, visited us a couple of days ago and told us about some new evangelistic outreaches. Two Bible teacher trainees who are part of a group of Manubu’ believers in a place called “The Lake” have started teaching the evangelistic phase of the teaching there in their village. Dani and some other teachers have started teaching the evangelistic phase in two other villages and are about to start teaching it in a third village.
This was exciting news to us because although the Manubu’ church of which Dani is a leader is nearly twenty years old, and they have been faithful to teach the evangelistic phase a number of times to new groups in their village, the only place they have reached out to beyond their village has been The Lake. So to see them pushing out with the evangelistic phase of the teaching to further away villages is very encouraging. Please PRAY for these three and soon to be four evangelistic outreaches. It it is a big commitment for the Manubu’ Bible teachers as the evangelistic phase is 42 lessons and is followed by a phase of 23 lessons, and then it can take a few years of teaching those who believe and training men in that group to be Bible teachers. So PRAY for both those listening to be saved and go on with the Lord and for endurance and firm commitment for the Bible teachers doing those outreaches.
Gene has been working on an introduction and cross references for the book of Daniel which he recently finished translating and is also working on translating Proverbs. Carol is editing Piduy’s recording of the New Testament and also writing a lesson on the history of the church which has involved a lot of research. We’re thankful that even here in our remote area we are able to have internet via a cell signal antenna and signal booster system so we can do research on the web.
Please continue to PRAY for health and strength for us each day as we press on preparing scripture translation, Bible lessons, scripture recording, and other materials for the Manubu’ churches.
We could not be here serving the Lord and the Manubu’ churches without your help. Thank you for showing your love for the Lord and the Manubu’ people and us through your prayers and gifts and emails of encouragement.
