In our last update we asked you to pray for ten year old Monica who has
had a speech impediment since birth. After surgery and a number of days
of recuperation in the city she has now returned home with her father,
Pulding.
We have been taking care of the New Tribes guesthouse here on our island
for a number of weeks now, but were able to return to our village for a
week in order to comprehension check the last few chapters of Ezra. One
of the first things we did upon arrival was to ask Pulding about
Monica. He said that she is now able to speak clearly enough to be
understood, but her voice is different now – sounds like she is holding
her nose when she talks. But, who cares as long as she can sound the
sounds!
We weren’t able to hear her speak because she is very shy and didn’t say
anything in our presence.
Thank you for praying for Monica. PRAISE the Lord with us for how He
arranged for a surgical team from Germany to be there in the city at the
right time, and that there has been real improvement in her speech.
Isn’t it amazing and encouraging how God manages for many things to come
together at the right time even using the unsaved in order to bless us?
Darryl and Becky, the managers our guesthouse, have been in the States
for awhile because his mother was on her deathbed and did die after they
arrived. Darryl will be having cataract surgery for both eyes so it
will be awhile before they can return here to the Philippines. So, we
expect to be watching over the guesthouse for a few more weeks. Between
working on OT translation, managing the guesthouse, and making necessary
repairs on the guesthouse we are keeping quite busy.
Keep looking ^ He is coming soon.
