Thoughts on Christmas
The story of Zacharias & Elizabeth has really struck us this Christmas – they had spent a lifetime waiting and wishing for a child, only to face barrenness and the cultural shame associated with it. Yet, Zacharias & Elizabeth remained faithful to the Lord and are record in Luke as being “righteous in the sight of God.” They could have been bitter and rejected God, instead they chose to faithfully serve Him, regardless of their personal pain. The beautiful part of the story is that God was using this time in their life to highlight HIS PLAN, so that when John came along, it was a miraculous event, heralding the Saviour’s coming. May we too yield ourselves to HIS PLAN, whatever that means to each one of us.
