September 2014 News from the Heckmans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We send greetings from Florida, where the temperatures are dropping! Brett and girls, Cody and Beka, Tim &amp; Charity, and David were all there\u2014we just missed Amy &amp; Hector and Judah-but we skyped with them!)\u00a0 and celebrated several birthdays that fall the first week of September (and David\u2019s too, even though it is the 26<sup>th<\/sup>).\u00a0 The lake was beautiful and the weather was nice.\u00a0 September 4, we had a storm come through and the kids were down by the lake taking awesome pictures of lightening, when we told them they probably should come inside due to the thunder and lightening.\u00a0 They came in and the wind picked up, and at one point we heard the \u201cfreight train\u201d sound that is usually associated with a tornado.\u00a0 The power was out, and we lit the candles and oil lamps and enjoyed a special time singing songs with David playing the guitar.\u00a0 SO thankful for our family!\u00a0 When the rain stopped and the wind died down we started looking around, out the windows and could see that several trees had blown down.\u00a0 Come morning, we saw the extent of the damages!\u00a0 WOW!!\u00a0 5-7 very large trees, very near the house were down, and one was 6\u201d from hitting the roof!!!\u00a0 Smaller trees broke the fall of some of the bigger ones, and we were awed and very thankful, for God\u2019s hand of protection.<br \/>\nSo, George spent most of his birthday this year, cutting trees, and engineering with the kids on the best way to drop the leaning ones near t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-411\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1666-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1666\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1666-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1666-768x1028.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1666-765x1024.jpg 765w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1666-82x110.jpg 82w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1666-187x250.jpg 187w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1666.jpg 1195w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/>he house, to t<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-414\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1669\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669-768x1029.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669-765x1024.jpg 765w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669-82x110.jpg 82w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669-187x250.jpg 187w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/files\/2014\/10\/IMG_1669.jpg 1344w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a>he ground without hitting the house.\u00a0 There were 4 large trees-Pine and Oak that needed to be dealt with right away.\u00a0 We spent the day without power, our Jungle Camp training served us very well!\u00a0 About 6:30 the power came on for 5 minutes, then we heard a \u201cCrash, boom, pop!\u201d and the power went out again.\u00a0 A tree down on the electric line by my brother\u2019s house broke the wire, and gone was our power.\u00a0 That\u2019s another story, on how we finally got power on again that same night.\u00a0 (If you want to hear it, let me know. J)\u00a0 Thus was our very EVENTFUL birthday week reunion!!\u00a0 God is faithful and how we thank Him for his protection and provision!<\/p>\n<p>We also thank Him for your part in our ministry.\u00a0 We enjoy our work at the NTM Home Offices in Member services.\u00a0 It is a privilege to serve the NTM family around the world.\u00a0 (Romans 15:25 has encouraged me-\u201c<em>For Now I go to Jerusalem (Sanford) to serve the saints.\u201d<\/em>)\u00a0 We will continue faithful to our FAITHFUL God, serving until He comes!<\/p>\n<p>Have a beautiful Fall!\u00a0 The leaves are turning in Michigan.\u00a0 We enjoy a change of flora in Florida as the \u201cseason\u2019s\u201d kind of change\u201d.\u00a0 We are busy with Church activities, and preparing for a friend\u2019s wedding.\u00a0 George will officiate, and Linda is sewing for the bridal party, and catering the reception.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you, again, for your care for us.\u00a0 We appreciate your prayers and know God is protecting always.\u00a0 He is good-all the time.\u00a0 All the time, He is good!!\u00a0 In His grace is our sufficiency for all our needs.<\/p>\n<p>In His Grace,<br \/>\nGeorge and Linda Heckman<\/p>\n<p>NTM US Home Offices\/Member Services<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We send greetings from Florida, where the temperatures are dropping!
