{"id":616,"date":"2018-06-11T13:07:56","date_gmt":"2018-06-11T17:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/?p=616"},"modified":"2018-06-11T13:07:56","modified_gmt":"2018-06-11T17:07:56","slug":"greetings-from-warm-and-wet-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/george-heckman\/2018\/06\/11\/greetings-from-warm-and-wet-florida\/","title":{"rendered":"Greetings from Warm and Wet Florida!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Warm Greetings from warm and wet Florida!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our days have been flying by.\u00a0 I apologize for a late letter this month!\u00a0 We have been travelling to Fort Lauderdale weekly, helping care for Mom and Dad.\u00a0\u00a0 Dad\u2019s bedsore is improving, and we wait in hope for his strength to return, and that he will be sitting up, and eventually walking again.\u00a0 This is a huge goal, especially when you consider he had been bedridden since mid-January.\u00a0 He has movement in all of his limbs, but will be needing to build muscle tone, and strength as he moves towards his goal.\u00a0 Mom\u2019s health has been improving, and we are thankful for her improvement in her memory and daily activities.\u00a0 We have totally revamped her diet and have seen good results! Please pray we will have wisdom in our care for them both.<\/p>\n<p>We have found a good Bible believing and teaching church in Southwest Ranches where we have been attending since we are there every week.\u00a0 We really miss our little church in Deltona.\u00a0 We trust that eventually we will be able to return there and be involved in the ministry again.<\/p>\n<p>In May we carved out a week to go and open our rental house in Michigan for the season.\u00a0 It was a great joy to have wonderful weather.\u00a0 Greater joy, to have the week there to spend with Linda\u2019s brother and sister-in-law.\u00a0 They were a tremendous blessing to us. We really needed a break in our routine, and a refreshing time there.\u00a0 Bob and Cindy saw to it that we were refreshed!\u00a0 Evening meals and boat rides were gladly provided all week.\u00a0 THANK YOU SO MUCH!<\/p>\n<p>News from Nicaragua has been very disheartening.\u00a0 Brett and Debby evacuated the country in late April and returned to Florida.\u00a0 The violence has increased and is spreading even through their town.\u00a0 They have decided to stay here in Florida and have stepped out of Grace Ministries Int\u2019l for this time.\u00a0 The Lord has gone before them and has provided a part time position at Grace Bible Church, as well as many other open doors.\u00a0 They really need prayer for their time now, that they would see their family grow strong, and be able to continue in ministry with people, drawing others close to the Lord.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0News from Mxxxx in PNG<\/em><\/strong>:<br \/>\nPhase 1 has been going on for some weeks Joseph O., missionary to the Mxxx writes:<br \/>\n<em>A lot of the people around here have heard (and remember in great detail) lots of Bible stories. The problem is <strong>they don\u2019t understand the context of or connection between different stories.<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Continue to <strong>pray that, as we teach, the truth will cut through the lies and pierce their hearts<\/strong>. Pray that they <strong>connect the dots and understand God\u2019s grace and mercy for the first time.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Hector and Amy are doing well in Missouri.\u00a0 He graduated from his Missions training Course there and is currently doing a study in New Testament Greek.\u00a0 When he finishes that, they will travel to Mexico to drop off belongings, then travel up to Oregon for a time of Partnership Development.\u00a0 Their support level has to rise for them to be able to continue on to the field.\u00a0 Please pray for them as they travel with their 3 kids.\u00a0 Elena is teething already at 3 months!<\/p>\n<p>Cody graduated from his flight school with commendations!\u00a0 He has passed his Private, Instrumental, and Commercial flying licenses.\u00a0 His next step is to take the Instructor\u2019s course, so he can train others.\u00a0 After that is done, Beka and Cody will move, after a short break, to Ethnos Aviation\u2019s center in Arizona for a course in \u201cJungle Aviation\u201d. (9 months).\u00a0 Beka is still working with LIFE FLIGHT as a medic.<\/p>\n<p>David and Joice are doing well.\u00a0 He recently changed jobs, and is no longer delivering flowers, but is working at a popular coffee shop in DeLand.<\/p>\n<p>Tim and Charity are expecting baby Amelia around August 1.
