Woke up with my big toe throbbing. Stubbed it in the river yesterday when I went to wash up. Should make for a good teaching illustation this morning, but I won’t complain if you still pray for it. But I’d better not complain since some of the 1000 or so people at this conference walked a few days to get here (bare foot through many rivers). Others spent a month’s wages to pay for the trip, only to sleep packed in like sardines. It’s 4 A.M. and they are starting to wake up now. One group is playing a guitar and singing worship songs. Others are praying. No coffee. Just pure praise for their gracious Heavenly Father for the chance to be here with all their brothers and sisters in Christ from around the country. Sounds a bit like Rev 5:9. I guess I’d better drag my stubbed toe out of my warm sleeping bag and join them. Actually maybe it doesn’t hurt so much any more. 🙂
And this is from two messages early this morning:
Got here. Not much battery life so mostly offline. Very hard (truck) trip here. Raining now. Going well otherwise. People begging for books. Had a great impromptu teaching session tonight. People were so excited to hear about God’s power over Satan.
