{"id":270,"date":"2010-06-20T13:59:30","date_gmt":"2010-06-20T17:59:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/heather-badiane\/?p=270"},"modified":"2010-06-20T15:16:51","modified_gmt":"2010-06-20T19:16:51","slug":"the-balanta-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/heather-badiane\/2010\/06\/20\/the-balanta-church\/","title":{"rendered":"The Balanta church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-274\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/heather-badiane\/2010\/06\/20\/the-balanta-church\/my-pictures-050\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-274\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/heather-badiane\/files\/2010\/06\/my-pictures-050-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"my pictures 050\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>One of the first things we did on our survey of village works was to worship with our Balanta brothers and sisters.\u00a0 Missionaries have been there for many years and there is finally a small church.\u00a0 We enjoyed a worship service with them outside under mango trees.\u00a0 Each of us danced during praise and worship time.\u00a0 They were so kind and generous!\u00a0 They have nearly nothing but took great effort to make gifts for us and feed us a delicious pork lunch.\u00a0 What a blessing to worship together with our Balanta friends.\u00a0 The missionaries there are currently working on translating the Bible into their language and also translate Bible lessons.\u00a0 Pray that the Balanta believers will put more effort into continuing a literacy program.\u00a0 Pray for unity among believers.\u00a0 Pray for continued spiritual growth. Pray that God will provide all their needs, spiritually and physically.\u00a0 Pray that they will be a light for God in their village where there are many who do not believe in God. Pray for them as they face pressures from those of traditional religions in their areas.
