Charles is Joola but from a different group so he has to go through all the same steps as I do for language study. \u00a0Thankfully, we have help. \u00a0One of our co-workers here is a consultant for our mission and before they move to Europe, she has offered to stay and help us get a jump-start. \u00a0We are following a program called, &#8220;The growing participator&#8221;. \u00a0Basically, we have a language partner from the village but we lead the sessions. \u00a0We started out by learning basic words using toys and pictures. \u00a0We record her explinations of what we want to learn and then listen to them before the next session. \u00a0Pray that we can learn all we can and become not just good speakers but effective participators in this community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are getting settled into our new home in the south of Senegal. \u00a0Our main ministry for the moment is to learn this language!
