\"\" \"\"What a treasure to have the Word of God in your own language! \u00a0We do not yet have a Bible in Joola where we work. \u00a0We do hope to start translating soon, though. \u00a0One day, we pray that there is a Bible here but people will need to learn to read and write this language if they are to enjoy studying God’s Word. \u00a0So, this is why we need to have a LITERACY PROGRAM. \u00a0We were blessed to participate in a literacy development class with consultants with Ethnos 360. \u00a0They brought with them a computer program that helped us to develop the first drafts of 5 primers and 5 readers, \u00a0pre-literacy, and tons of word cards! \u00a0All that in just two weeks! The guys worked hard writing stories and were really challenged because they were limited on the letters and syllables they could use depending on the lesson. Two weeks complete, we have first drafts and now need to go home and do testing and editing. We also need to develop teachers manuals for future teachers. Pray for us as we try and work out the final spellings of words and edit material with no spell checker. We are also seeking financial partners for this project as we will have to pay for materials and pay teachers something for their time. If you are interested, tap above “give” to see how.
