You don’t have time to read everything that has gone through my mind when I started thinking about the blessings God has poured out on my family and me.
After Brynna’s car accident Friday started me thinking about blessings, one thing that really stood out is the condition of her older sister, Jackie.
Lyme disease left Jackie in a wheelchair, unable to walk. It affected her mind as well, making her depressed and unable to concentrate. Today, Jackie is getting around the University of Central Florida just fine, albeit with a cane, and she expects to graduate this spring.
And of course we know that many, many people have been praying for her, and knowing that’s been happening is a huge encouragement.
Man, how good is that? Especially if you think about the fact that even if I was dying of exposure and starvation, I’ve been blessed with eternal life. And one glance down at my belly tells me there’s not much chance of starvation any time soon.
My belly – like the rest of me and my family – is amply covered in clothing that is donated to New Tribes Mission. And the roof over our heads is a low-rent apartment with lots of room and a great view.
We have wonderful church here that gives us a huge variety of opportunities to serve as we worship together, and where we are challenged to follow God.
We have a great home church that stands behind us and in a very big and real way helps make our ministry possible.
As big as that is, I think our ministry with New Tribes Mission is an even bigger blessing. God has blessed us by allowing us to be a part of expanding the reach of the Gospel to tribal people. He has blessed us by giving us opportunities to get many believers involved so many more tribal people can become His followers.
I hope that the opportunities you have to take part in our ministry are as much a blessing to you!
