How about some Moi vocabulary?

nah-bee-day: I’m scared

ohow: Oh golly!

tau: No

say-ah-way-hey: It’s like that (said repeatedly when telling a story)

Surprisingly, for a people who experience almost continuous rain and muddy trails, they have only one word for each:

eddy: rain

duh-bee: mud

By the way, just writing notes in my notebook has attracted attention. Few of the Mois can read or write. But Carolyn Crockett is in the midst of literacy lessons, so that’s changing.

It’ll be great when more Mois can not only read, but read the Word of God and Bible lessons in their own language.
