Subul had to say something

Sometimes you just have to speak up.

That’s where Subul, usually a quiet man, found himself recently.

The Patpatar man in Papua New Guinea recently left a tradition of doing religious exercises and good works in order to earn his way into Heaven. Instead, he is trusting in the finished work of Christ – alone.

He is one fewer than two dozen Patpatars to take this step, and other villagers were pressuring him to return to the old ways. They told him he was sinning and will not get to Heaven.

He replied …

"It doesn’t matter if they call me a man of sin. It is not my work that will get me to Heaven. It is the work Jesus did for me and I am believing in that."
