Monday and Tuesday of this week were great. We were in strategy and planning meetings all day both days, and made some good progress.
Days full of meetings often seem busy but unproductive. However, it’s days like Monday and Tuesday that lay the groundwork for days like today.
Today I worked on:
Project: Kodiak airplane for Papua New Guinea: I wrote up the online project, assigned a photo and asked for two more pieces of information.
I also rewrote a series of five letters, and made three versions of one, designed to help our missionaries in Papua New Guinea give people opportunities to take part in the project. I gave those to one of our writers for editing, then revised them and sent them on to our development team.
Email newsletter for all members of NTM USA: I compiled and edited a two-item email newsletter, passed that on for editing and revised it. After I sent it off for review and got an OK, I sent that out.
NTM website news: I read through about two dozen newsletters from missionaries around the world, and flagged about a half-dozen to indicate to our writers that these were the ones I wanted them to follow up on. I edited two stories and passed them back to the writer, and reviewed two more stories and approved them for publications.
And actually, that was just this morning, since I am just now heading into the afternoon. That probably shows you why I try to get into the office around 6 a.m. each day.
But what else does that show you? Well, I’m not out “on the field.” All I’m doing is:
1) Providing materials and avenues to help raise millions of dollars so our missionaries on the field have the tools they need.
2) Maintaining a channel for our leaders and other teams to communicate with our missionaries around the globe.
3) Leading a team of writers whose work is encouraging folks like you to take part in God’s work, via the NTM website, Facebook, Twitter and email newsletters.
And other stuff that I’ll get to this afternoon.
I hope you think that’s important, because you’re a part of this ministry. I couldn’t do this without your prayers, gifts and encouragement.
Thanks!
