The Manjúi people believe in equality. <\/p>\n

Does that sound almost American to you?<\/p>\n

But they don’t just believe all men are created equal. They believe no one should ever be unequal.<\/p>\n

“No one should own more than another,” wrote Jamie Hunt. “No one should act differently than the rest. Everything must be shared equally with all. Extreme social pressure and ridicule are poured out on those who refuse to conform.”<\/p>\n

This keeps people from leading, saving for the future, or making other changes in their lives. This caused some conflicts with the Word of God – for example, people were very reluctant admit that they even had the means to take the Gospel to other Manjuis. <\/p>\n

Still, it seems the Manjúi believers cannot get past the belief. And now the missionaries who work among them know why.<\/p>\n

Jamie’s brother, Jeff, made the amazing discovery during a conversation with a Manjúi church leader.<\/p>\n

“The Manjúis believe there is a hairy demon with glowing eyes and a long tail that seeks to devour any Manjúi who has more than another Manjúi,” Jamie wrote. “The demon will hide in the darkness and can be identified by the sound of him crunching bones. <\/p>\n

“The fear of this demon has kept them in bondage for generations!”<\/p>\n

Jeff plans to confront this belief as he teaches the Manjui church about the security of the believer. Pray that the Manjúi believers will be free from the fear that has held them back.<\/p>\n
