They all have compassion for the Wanos, and I’m sure each of them has moments in which they don’t feel particularly compassionate as well.

But there’s something the Wano people see in Mike that led them to name him, “He who has compassion for the Wano people.” I think I’d take that over some lame name like “Dances with wolves” any day, wouldn’t you?

But what’s really great is that pretty soon, Mike and his teammates are going to introduce the Wano people to the One who truly has compassion for them.

The team has taught some of the Wanos to read and write in their own language. They’ve learned a lot about the culture and the language. They’ve translated Scripture portions, and prepared Bible lessons in the Wano language, which are now being checked by one of our co-workers here in Florida.

And later this month, the missionary team to the Wanos plans to begin telling the story of Jesus where it begins: Creation.

Will you please pray?

Pray that the team is able to carefully translate the Scriptures needed to teach about key passages of the Bible that lay the foundation for understanding Christ’s ministry, and then the passages about His work.

Pray that they are able to diligently prepare Bible lessons that clearly present the message God has for the Wano people.

Pray that the Wanos will desire to come and learn, and ultimately meet the Savior and place their faith in Him.

Thank you for the role you play in planting churches among the world’s unreached people groups.

Wouldn’t it be great to be known for your good works like Barnabas was?
