I know that my struggling to do good works can\u2019t obtain for me forgiveness for my sin. I also believe that Jesus Christ came to the world and died in our place concerning our sin. That\u2019s why I want to be dunked here in water in the name of God and Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was a great testimony to those who gathered to watch the event, including many unsaved people. Praise the Lord!<\/p>\n<p>But you may be wondering why he said \u201cdunked in water\u201d instead of \u201cbaptized.\u201d It\u2019s the difference between translation and transliteration.<\/p>\n<p>Huh?<\/p>\n<p><em>Transliteration <\/em>means to basically use a foreign word without really translating it. Translating, of course, means to not use a foreign word.<\/p>\n<p>So in most English Bibles, the Greek word <em>baptizo <\/em>is not translated as \u201cimmerse,\u201d which is what it means, but transliterated as baptize.<\/p>\n<p>But in the Landuma Bible, it\u2019s translated as <em>puk<\/em>, pronounced pook, which means \u201cdunk\u201d or \u201cimmerse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gee, does that make their translation more accurate than ours?<\/p>\n<p>By the way, Jesus\u2019 cousin is known in Landuma as <em>Yahaya Wapuk <\/em>\u2013 John the Dunker.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you been dunked?
