He\u2019s been sitting up, eating, walking, talking clearly and remembering everything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">He\u2019s supposed to be transferred this week to St. Anthony\u2019s in Denver for brain and skull surgery and three weeks of recovery, so please keep praying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">As I look back on this, a lot of things went his way. That\u2019s what\u2019s left of the helmet on the right.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Second, he was with his Army unit \u2013 guys who are not just trained to respond to traumatic injuries, but experienced at it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Third, he\u2019s been getting great care. The hospitals have been great, the insurance company has assured Kristen everything \u2013 including her housing in Denver \u2013 is being taken care, and his sergeant has been by to check on him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Fourth, his wife, Kristen, has been with him the whole time. Julie and I already loved her, and to see her hold up and stay positive throughout this just makes us appreciate her all the more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Most of all, though, hundreds of people have been praying for him. Not saying I think God has some kind of a cutoff for miracles. A loving God wouldn\u2019t withhold recovery because, say, only ten people prayed for someone. But I know our God is pleased when His people together acknowledge their dependence on Him, and you\u2019ve encouraged Julie and I, as well as Evan and Kristen.
