Wapane wanted to hear God\u2019s Word, but the teaching was too far away. The Moi woman was too old to walk to another village in Asia-Pacific\u2019s rugged Papua Province.<\/p>\n

Her plight literally became Ginogui\u2019s burden: He put her in a large string bag, slung her over his shoulder, and carried her for hours over narrow, muddy, steep trails so she could hear.<\/p>\n

My work is to give people like you that same opportunity. Missionaries like Julie and I are willing to leave our homes and families and everything they know and hold dear, so people like Wapane can hear the Good News.<\/p>\n

And people like you can stand with us and make our work possible, through your partnership in our ministries.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve often been asked, in the years since I first shared that story, if Wapane heard the teaching and put her faith in Christ.<\/p>\n

She heard. And she chose not to accept salvation.<\/p>\n

But that makes the story better, doesn\u2019t it? It\u2019s my job to put the opportunities out there. You have the right \u2013 and responsibility \u2013 to decide whether to take them.<\/p>\n

Opportunities to \u2026<\/h2>\n

Pray:<\/strong> Julie has ruptured the cartilage of her rib cage, leaving her in constant pain for which time is the only cure. Pray for her healing. Pray also for our continuing efforts to drive forward hard in ministry; this is another obstacle that we need God\u2019s help to overcome so we can remain focused on Him and His work. We would be encouraged to hear that you are praying for us.<\/a><\/p>\n

Give:<\/strong> I got some great photos in East Africa, like the one above. But in the rugged conditions, several pieces of my camera gear failed. I need to replace them with gear that can stand up to the environments where I use it. Will you please give to God through our ministry for that purpose?<\/a><\/p>\n
