The Christmas Eve service in the Nakwi tribe of Papua New Guinea<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> wasn’t elaborate.<\/p>\n

”But there on the dirt floor under the leaky palm-leaf enclosure,” wrote Tim Askew, “the miraculous story of Christ’s advent was retold and recounted by Nakwi Bible teachers.”<\/p>\n

Soon they will hold their annual Christmas-New Years party, sharing foot and playing outdoor games.<\/p>\n

But Tuti, one of the Nakwi teachers, kept it all in perspective. <\/p>\n

“Soon we’ll be having a party and eating lots of food,” he said. “That stuff is just temporal. We were living in sin’s prison, and we were going to die there. Jesus came from Heaven to free us, to open our road to Heaven. That’s why we’re happy today.”<\/p>\n

Thank God with us that not only did He open our road to Heaven. He gives us opportunities to help others find that road. We wanted to go to Papua New Guinea<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>, and perhaps even work with the Askews. But God led us to Florida<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, so we could help you.<\/p>\n
